Return & Refund Policy

Thank you for shopping with 49° North Coffee Roasters. We stand behind everything we make and want you to love what you receive. Please read our policy below — it varies by product type.

☕ Coffee & Consumables

All coffee and consumable products are final sale once opened. We are unable to accept returns on opened bags due to the perishable nature of our products.

  • Unopened bags may be returned within 14 days of delivery in original, sealed condition for a full refund or exchange.
  • If your order arrives damaged, stale, or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days of delivery and we'll make it right.

👕 Branded Merchandise (Apparel, Mugs, Hats & Gear)

Our merchandise is print-on-demand and made to order, so we are unable to accept returns or exchanges for sizing, color preference, or change of mind.

  • If your item arrives defective, misprinted, or damaged, contact us within 30 days of delivery with a photo of the issue and we will arrange a free reprint or full refund.
  • Customers are not required to return defective items.

🔁 Exchange Requests

We do not offer direct exchanges on print-on-demand merchandise due to the made-to-order nature of our products. However:

  • For coffee and unopened consumables, exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery. Contact us and we'll send a prepaid return label for eligible items.
  • For defective or incorrect merchandise, we will issue a free reprint of the correct item — no exchange shipment required.
  • If you'd like a different product entirely, we recommend requesting a refund (where eligible) and placing a new order.

🔄 Subscription Orders

We offer Subscribe & Save options on select coffee products. Please note:

  • Subscribers can skip, pause, or cancel at any time before the next order processes.
  • Once a subscription order has been processed and fulfilled, it is non-refundable under our standard consumables policy.
  • If a subscription shipment arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within 7 days and we will reship or refund that order.
  • To manage your subscription, log into your account or contact us directly.

🎁 Gift Orders

  • If you received an item as a gift and it arrived defective or incorrect, please contact us with the order number (if available) or the gift sender's name and we'll make it right.
  • Eligible refunds on gift orders will be issued as store credit to the gift recipient, not to the original payment method.
  • We do not offer cash refunds on gift orders where the original purchaser is not requesting the refund.

🌍 International Orders

  • We ship to select international destinations. All applicable customs duties, taxes, and import fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
  • These charges are non-refundable and will not be reimbursed by 49° North Coffee Roasters.
  • International orders that are refused at customs or abandoned will not be eligible for a refund of shipping costs.
  • If an international order is lost in transit, please contact us and we will work with the carrier to investigate. Resolution timelines may vary.

Additional Notes

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of approval.
  • We are not responsible for delays or losses caused by the carrier once a package has shipped.
  • Shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.
